Poppy Seed Oil As Fertility Booster
A hundred years ago, women who needed X-rays of their fallopian tubes had them first flushed out with poppy seed oil to scan for any blockages. As X-rays are becoming abandoned in favor of newer imaging techniques, this flushing is becoming obsolete as well. Sleep apnea may increase risk of pregnancy complications
A study of more than 1.5 million pregnant women in the US found that those with sleep apnea had to stay in the hospital longer and were more likely to need time in the ICU. They also had an increased risk of preeclampsia and eclampsia. Diagnosing sleep apnea during pregnancy may allow doctors to intervene now and positively impact their cardiovascular and metabolic health later. Read more here.
