Being pregnant is tiring, it is strenuous, and at times it can be outright annoying.
We are all in the same boat when we say that being pregnant during the holiday season is all of the above just ten times worse.
One of the biggest stresses for this cheer-filled couple of weeks is house guests- both guests who happen to be family and those who are not.
In-laws, best friends, cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and Grandparents- all under the same roof with (maybe) you hosting.
If you are hosting your family for the holidays you will want some quick and easy ways to cut out time-consuming activities such as last-minute toiletries runs, midnight snack requests, and WiFi information.
I have put together a fail-safe way to make guestroom goodie bags with all the necessities and finally show your relatives you are pregnant, competent, and fun!
1. The WiFi name and password
This is imperative. Guests for longer than a day will always ask for this information and if you don’t have it on hand it gets very annoying to have to root through ‘that’ drawer and find it.
Write it out on a little card and stick it in the little basket or bag you have chosen.
2. A bottle of water
Although this sounds obvious, people always need water. To prevent the asking where cups are or where water is for the first night, chuck in a large water bottle (better if reusable but not necessary) for their consumption.
3. Mini shampoo, conditioner, and body wash
Some guests may have thought of bringing but some may have not. Instead of waiting for the request and driving to the closest convenience store- preempt their question and provide the basic bath and shower essentials!
4. The other essentials- ie razor, tampons, and pads
The other essentials you might need are tampons, pads, and a razor.
If your guest is female, adding a little packet of tampons may spare much embarrassment in the long run.
A razor is a necessity for both men and women alike- and if forgotten, it will be embarrassing too.
5. The anti-headache or eggnog hangover cure
Throw in a little bottle of Advil or Tylenol. We all get headaches around the holiday season and this shows that you are both thoughtful and realistic.
6. The fun stuff- fuzzy socks and chocolate
Finally, you can add in whatever else you think your guests would appreciate. Whether it be some milk chocolate caramel swirls or some hot pink fuzzy socks to keep their toes warm, add your personal touch.
